August 2024 Weather Daylight Hours in August in UK: 14 Hours. August has definitely been the month for harvesting. It hasn’t been especially hot, mostly maintaining 21 to 24 degrees centigrade with a few hotter days, one day hit 32 degrees C. We also didn’t have any rainfall for a whole month and then some torrential downpours. However the soil is still very dry. Growing in the Greenhouse in August Winter Plug plants potted on in greenhouse Sweet Peppers (2 different varieties) some in pots, some in Autopots, Tomatoes ‘Cherrola F1’ in the Hozelock Growbag Waterer, Mini Melons ‘Minnesota Midget’ in Autopots, Mini Cucumbers (last Harvest was 4 August). Winter Plug Plants in Pots of Cauliflower’All Year Round’, Kale ‘Cavelero Nero’ and Brussels Sprouts ‘Evesham’.
