I prefer growing them in the Autumn & Winter as there are fewer pests, no caterpillars but might be a few slugs. Brassicas are hungry feeders and require a good 2 to 3 inches of compost to grow in. Brassicas also need good spacing and the leaves should not touch the side of the netting. Brassicas are not as popular as Tomatoes or Pumpkins. Brassicas including cabbage take a long time to grow.
