Here is what I sowed, growed and harvested in July:
Sowings Timeline – July
Weekend 1 – 7 July 24
Mini Melon ‘Minnesota Midget’ flowering in the unheated greenhouse.
- Courgette ‘Summer Holiday F1’ (a yellow stripy ball courgette) forming tiny yellow courgette balls.
Tomatoes ‘Cherrola F1’ started to change colour in the unheated greenhouse.
Broad Beans ‘Eleonora’ last of pods Harvested. Plants removed from soil.
Onions ‘Hercules F1’ started to fatten up and stand above the ground.

Cucumber ‘Piccolino F1 Mini’.
Weekend 8 – 14 July
- Squash ‘Jester F1’ x 2 planted into Raised Bed 1 in amongst the garlic and tomatoes.
- Sweet Pepper ‘Napia’ red – HARVEST!
- Courgette ‘Zephyr’ x 2 – baby courgettes forming on plants in containers.
Peach ‘Inka’ x 6 – HARVEST!
- BlackBerry ‘Loch ness thornless’ – HARVEST!
- Still Harvesting – Blueberry ‘Duke’
Tomato ‘Cherrola F1’ – HARVEST!
Weekend 15 – 21 July
Build and plant front garden raised flowerbed.
- Harvest Lavender plants in front garden.
DISEASE – Powdery Mildew on Courgetteleaves.
Cut & plant Strawberry Runners into separate pots.
PEST – Blackfly on apple leaves.
Tomatoes ‘Tom Thumb’ forming.
DISEASE – Blossom End Rot on Tomatoes.
Cut off Garlic Scapes.
Weekend 22 – 28 July
Carrot ‘Marion F1’ – HARVEST !

Sweetcorn ‘Goldcrest F1’ Top Tassels appear & cobs start to form.
Tomato ‘Cherrola F1’ – HARVEST!
- Courgette ‘Zephyr’ x 2 plants – HARVEST! 2 courgettes!
Some Onions in pot and Raised Bed 4 tops are folding flat.
PEST – Cabbage White Butterfly – Tiny green caterpillars and yellow eggs found on Brussels Sprouts plant.
Apples branch snapped under weight of apples on golden delicious- 3 x apples – HARVEST!
- Squash ‘Jester F1 – baby squash appeared.
Mini Melon ‘Minnesota Midget’ – baby melon formed.
Sweet Pepper ‘Tangerine Dream’ changing colour to red.
Weekend 29 July – 31 July
- Continued Harvest of: Mini Cucumbers, Cherry red tomatoes, sweet peppers, blackberries, Lettuce.
- HARVEST –
1st Early Potatoes ‘Casablanca’ – 84 Potatoes from 10 Tubers (5 tubers in each container).
- Ball Courgette ‘Summer Holiday F1’ forming balls.
Mini Melon ‘Minnesota Midget’ forming mini melons.
- HARVEST –
Tomatoes ‘Orange Cherry’ planted Outdoors in Raised Bed 1.

Tomatoes ‘Tiny Tim’ outdoors in pots.
